At Bodywise Occupational Therapy, we are committed to providing a supportive, respectful and professional service for every client and family we work with.
We believe in open communication, transparency and creating a safe space where you feel informed and comfortable at every stage of your therapy journey.
Please do not hesitate to ask questions about any of the below policies at any time.
Bodywise Occupational Therapy collects, stores and uses personal information for the purpose of providing occupational therapy services and support to clients and families.
All information is handled in accordance with relevant Australian privacy legislation and professional standards. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your information is stored securely using appropriate systems and processes.
Clinical notes and records are maintained to support quality care and ongoing therapy planning. Where services are funded through third parties such as the NDIS, Medicare or other funding bodies, limited information may be required for invoicing, reporting or compliance purposes in line with funding requirements.
Your privacy and confidentiality are very important to us.
Information shared during therapy sessions will remain confidential unless:
there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or another person
there are concerns relating to child safety or neglect
disclosure is required by law, subpoena or court order
Where possible, we will always discuss this with you first.
If you have any questions or concerns about confidentiality, please feel welcome to discuss them with your therapist at any stage.
Payment terms may vary depending on your funding type and service agreement.
For self-managed and privately funded clients, invoices are generally payable within the timeframe outlined on your invoice.
NDIS clients may be invoiced in accordance with their service agreement and applicable NDIS pricing arrangements.
If you have any questions regarding fees, funding or invoicing, please feel free to contact us.
We aim to respond to emails, phone calls and enquiries as promptly as possible during business hours.
Please note that Bodywise Occupational Therapy is not a crisis service. If you require urgent medical or mental health support, please contact your GP, emergency services or an appropriate crisis support service.
Telehealth sessions are available where clinically appropriate and are offered via secure online platforms.
While every effort is made to protect privacy and confidentiality, there can be limitations and risks associated with technology and internet-based communication. Clients are encouraged to attend sessions in a quiet, private space with a stable internet connection where possible.
If technical issues arise during a session, alternative arrangements may be discussed.
Equine-assisted occupational therapy sessions involve working alongside horses in a supportive, therapeutic environment. All sessions are ground-based only (no riding).
While every effort is made to maintain a safe environment, working around animals carries some inherent risks. Participants may be asked to wear appropriate enclosed footwear and comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor environments.
Sessions may occasionally need to be rescheduled due to weather conditions, participant wellbeing, or safety concerns.
Bodywise Occupational Therapy values open communication and welcomes feedback as part of providing safe, respectful and supportive care.
If you have any concerns or complaints, we encourage you to discuss them directly with us so we can work towards a respectful and timely resolution.
Clients also have the right to seek external support or make complaints through relevant governing bodies where appropriate.
